TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE WORLDWIDE TIBET MOVEMENT, WHICH IS DEDICATED TO ENDING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN TIBET, AND TO ACTIVELY SUPPORTING THE TIBETAN PEOPLE'S RIGHT UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW TO DETERMINE THEIR OWN POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL STATUS.

CAMPAIGN COORDINATION. DURING 2022, INTERNATIONAL TIBET NETWORK DEVELOPED AND SUPPORTED COORDINATED CAMPAIGN ACTIONS, FACILITATED PLANNING SESSIONS, AND CREATED RESOURCES AND MATERIALS ON A RANGE OF ISSUES. A MAJOR PRIORITY WAS THE #NOBEIJING2022 - WINTER OLYMPICS CAMPAIGN, WHICH SAW HIGH LEVELS OF ACTIVITY AND CROSS-MOVEMENT WORK FACILITATED BY TIBET NETWORK. FURTHER PRIORITIES INCLUDED POLITICAL PRISONER CAMPAIGNS FREE PANCHEN LAMA AND FREE TIBETAN HEROES. OUR TIBET CLIMATE CRISIS CAMPAIGN CULMINATED IN TIBET NETWORK COORDINATING A WORKING GROUP AND DELEGATION IN THE LEAD UP TO AND DURING THE COP27 IN SHARM EL-SHEIKH IN EGYPT. TIBET NETWORK ALSO SUPPORTED WORK ON PROTECT TIBET'S CHILDREN (CHINA'S BOARDING SCHOOLS IN TIBET), AND LAUNCHED A NEW COORDINATED GLOBAL CAMPAIGN, "CHINA: HANDS OFF TIBETANS' DNA," BASED ON REPORTS BY HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH AND CITIZENS LAB, DETAILING HOW CHINESE AUTHORITIES HAVE BEEN COLLECTING DNA FROM AS MANY AS 1.2 MILLION TIBETANS.
MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES. IN MAY WE ORGANIZED OUR FIRST CROSS-REGIONAL MEETING IN BARCELONA, OPEN TO ALL TIBET NETWORK MEMBER GROUPS. THE THREE-DAY MEETING WAS ATTENDED BY AROUND 70 PARTICIPANTS AND ALLOWED TO RECONNECT IN PERSON AFTER COVID HAD PUT A HOLD ON OUR ANNUAL REGIONAL MEETINGS. IN OCTOBER WE ORGANIZED ANOTHER IN-PERSON MEETING FOR NETWORK MEMBERS LOCATED IN ASIA AND AUSTRALASIA. MOREOVER, SOME OF THE STAFF WERE ABLE TO ATTEND COP27 IN SHARM EL-SHEIKH, EGYPT. WE CONTINUED TO HOST REGULAR WEEKLY ONLINE MEETINGS FOR MEMBER GROUPS AS WELL AS REGULAR CAMPAIGN WORKING GROUP SESSIONS.
TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING. INTERNATIONAL TIBET NETWORK'S TRAINING PROGRAM AIMS TO INCREASE CAPACITY AND MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVENESS AND IMPACT OF THE TIBET MOVEMENT. IT IS DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF NETWORK MEMBERS BY DEVELOPING SKILLS THROUGH WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING SESSIONS AS WELL AS INFORMING THEM ABOUT KEY DEVELOPMENTS THROUGH PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND EXPERT MEETINGS FOR MEMBER GROUPS. THE ONLINE TRAINING THAT WE ORGANIZED FOCUSED ON DECODING CHINESE PROPAGANDA, SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS, EFFECTIVE MOBILISING AND DIGITAL SECURITY. WE ALSO ORGANISED ONLINE PANEL DISCUSSIONS AROUND THE NO BEIJING 2022 CAMPAIGN, TIBET CLIMATE CRISIS, CROSS-MOVEMENT SOLIDARITY AND YOUTH ACTIVISM, TIBETAN DEMOCRACY, DISSENT IN CHINA AND AN IN-PERSON TALK BY FORMER TIBETAN POLITICAL PRISONERS IN INDIA. MOREOVER, WE CONTINUED TO OFFER INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT TO NETWORK MEMBERS IF NEEDED.
