Part 3 - Line 4a
CAMPAIGN COORDINATION.DURING THIS YEAR, INTERNATIONAL TIBET NETWORK DEVELOPED AND SUPPORTED COORDINATED CAMPAIGN ACTIONS, PROVIDED FACILITATED PLANNING SESSIONS, AND CREATED RESOURCES AND MATERIALS. THE PREDOMINANT FOCUS DURING THIS PERIOD WAS THE "NO BEIJING 2022" CAMPAIGN WITH OVERLAPPING WORK ON OTHER PRIORITY CAMPAIGNS INCLUDING FREE THE PANCHEN LAMA AND FREE TIBETAN HEROES - BOTH ADVOCATING FOR THE RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS. WE SUPPORTED A NUMBER OF CAMPAIGN WORKING GROUPS LINKED TO THE ABOVE CAMPAIGNS AND CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF ADVOCACY PROGRAMMES WITH TIBET ADVOCACY COALITION, INCLUDING WORK RELATED TO THE UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL. A FURTHER KEY FOCUS WAS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TIBET'S CLIMATE CRISIS CAMPAIGN THAT CULMINATED IN TIBET NETWORK COORDINATING ACTIVITY IN THE LEAD UP TO AND DURING THE CLIMATE CHANGE NEGOTIATIONS COP26 IN GLASGOW.
MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES. THE ONGOING COVID SITUATION MEANT THAT ALL REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS REMAINED ON HOLD. HOWEVER SOME OF THE NETWORK STAFF WERE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO GLASGOW FOR THE COP26 SUMMIT AND TO ATHENS TO MEET WITH NETWORK MEMBERS AND ALLIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE OLYMPICS CAMPAIGN. WE ALSO ORGANIZED TWO FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS FOR NETWORK MEMBERS IN TAIWAN. DUE TO OUR INABILITY TO CONVENE REGIONAL MEETINGS FOR A SECOND YEAR WE INSTEAD HOSTED MULTIPLE ONLINE MEETINGS INCLUDING A REGULAR WEEKLY MEETING, TO NETWORK WITH MEMBERS, AND MONTHLY WORKING GROUP SESSIONS.
TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING. INTERNATIONAL TIBET NETWORK'S CAPACITY-BUILDING AND TRAINING PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT. DURING THIS PERIOD WE ORGANIZED AND FACILITATED AN ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAMME THAT INCLUDED STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS, KEY ISSUES UPDATES AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS. TO HELP BUILD STAFF CONFIDENCE IN ADAPTING TO ONLINE TRAINING WE HELD A 2-DAY 'TRAINING FOR TRAINERS' WORKSHOP TO DEVELOP THE TEAM'S UNDERSTANDING OF AND SKILLS TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT SUCCESSFUL ONLINE TRAINING SESSIONS. FOLLOWING THIS WE DESIGNED AND ORGANIZED A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS (AS PART OF A FULL DAY CONFERENCE) FOR GLOBAL TIBET GROUPS, FOCUSING ON BUILDING SKILLS AND STRATEGIC PLANNING KNOWLEDGE FOR THE NO BEIJING 2022 CAMPAIGN. WE ALSO CONTINUED TO GIVE ADVICE AND SUPPORT TO GROUPS CONCERNING THE DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THEIR OWN TRAININGS.
