TO EDUCATE ALASKANS AND VISITORS ABOUT THE PEOPLE, EVENTS AND MOMENTS IN SPORTS HISTORY THAT BROUGHT DISTINCTION TO THE STATE; HONOR AND PRESERVE THE MEMORY OF SIGNIFICANT SPORTS EVENTS; TO INSPIRE AND PROMOTE YOUTH POPULATIONS TO TAKE PART IN SPORTS AND HEALTHY ACTIVITIES BY PROVIDING PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE.

TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY FAMILY AND YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN GETTING ACTIVE THROUGH THE HEALTHY FUTURES PROGRAM, WHICH SPONSORS LOCAL RUNNING EVENTS AND SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE YOUTH TO BE HEALTHY AND ACTIVE.
