ON JULY 30, 2021, MHCA HELD THREE STATEWIDE SYMPOSIUMS IN THREE MS REGIONS (TUPELO, JACKSON, AND HATTIESBURG) WITH EMPHASIS ON CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR STEMI AND STROKE SYSTEMS OF CARE. THEY WERE HELD FREE OF CHARGE TO PARTICIPANTS, AND 5.5 CME/CE CREDITS WERE AWARDED BY ST. DOMINIC CONTINUING EDUCATION OFFICE AND BUREAU OF EMS. THE JANUARY 2021 QUARTERLY STATEWIDE MEETING WAS HELD REMOTELY VIA WEBEX DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. OUR APRIL, AUGUST, AND NOVEMBER 2021 MEETINGS WERE HELD IN PERSON. AT EACH MEETING AGGREGATE STEMI AND STROKE MS DATA V NATION DATA WERE PRESENTED TO MEMBERS. BIMONTHLY STEMI & STROKE COORDINATORS/DATA COLLECTORS' MEETINGS WERE HELD VIA WEBEX TO DISCUSS AND SHARE BEST PRACTICES.MHCA CONTINUED TO OFFER PARTIAL FUNDING (50% PAYMENT OF HOSPITAL IMPLEMENTATION FEE AND 100% OF YEAR ONE OF A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT) FOR PULSARA, A SOFTWARE APP TO REDUCE TIME TO TREATMENT FROM FIELD EMS TO HOSPITAL REGARDING STEMI AND STROKE. IN 2021 MHCA OFFERED GRANTS FOR RAPIDAI (SOFTWARE ADDED TO HOSPITALS' EXISTING COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) SCAN EQUIPMENT) TO MORE EASILY DETECT LARGE VESSEL OCCLUSIONS IN ACUTE STROKE PATIENTS.
