PLAYGROUND STRUCTURE: THIS EXPENDITURE IS TO FUND A PLAYGROUND STRUCTURE IN THE PORTER RANCH COMMUNITY SCHOOL ("PRCS") ELEMENTARY SCHOOL YARD, WHICH IS NOT FUNDED BY THE LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ("LAUSD"). THIS EXPENDITURE INCLUDED THE COST OF THE EQUIPMENT AND A PAYMENT TO LAUSD FOR ADA/DSA ACCESS DRAWING, SITE LOCATION PLANS, AND INSPECTIONS. THIS EXPENDITURE BENEFITS STUDENTS AT ALL GRADE LEVELS.
PORTER RANCH COMMUNITY SCHOOL/LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ("LAUSD"): THIS GRANT WAS FOR AIDES/STAFF IN THE ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. THE AIDES PROVIDE CLASSROOM SUPPORT TO THE TEACHERS AND PLAYGROUND SUPERVISION. THIS GRANT BENEFITTED STUDENTS AT ALL GRADE LEVELS.
LEARNING ACADEMIES: THESE EXPENDITURES ON BEHALF OF PRCS WERE TO FUND A STEAM ACADEMY FOR GRADES K TO 5 AND A LEADERSHIP ACADEMY FOR GRADES 6 TO 8. EXPENDITURES INCLUDED DANCE AND THEATER INSTRUCTION, MATH AND SCIENCE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, STEM AND ART RELATED FIELD TRIPS, IXL LEARNING SOFTWARE FOR MATH, STEM SUPPLIES, AND ADDITONAL ACADEMY SUPPORT. THESE EXPENDITURES BENEFIT STUDENTS ACROSS ALL GRADE LEVELS.
COMPUTER LAB TEACHER AND SCIENCE LAB ASSISTANT: THIS EXPENDITURE IS TO FUND AN INSTRUCTOR AND LAB ASSISTANT IN THE PRCS COMPUTER AND SCIENCE LABS. THE COMPUTER LAB INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT TO STUDENTS TO REINFORCE LEARNING BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS, TO PRACTICE KEYBOARDING SKILLS, TO ACCESS AND USE VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE, AND TO ENGAGE IN AGE APPROPRIATE COMPUTER PROJECTS. THE SCIENCE LAB ASSISTANT ASSISTS TEACHERS WITH THE SET UP AND USE OF THE SCIENCE LAB. THE ADDITIONAL STAFFING BENEFITS STUDENTS AT ALL GRADE LEVELS. TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT: THESE EXPENDITURES PROVIDED COMPUTERS, INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS, PROJECTORS, PRINTERS, ONLINE READING PROGRAMS, AND PROMETHEAN BOARDS TO USE IN THE PRCS CLASSROOMS. THESE EXPENDITURES BENEFIT STUDENTS ACROSS ALL GRADE LEVELS. YMCA PLAY: THIS EXPENDITURE PROVIDED PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR ALL ELEMENTARY GRADE LEVELS AT PRCS, WHICH IS NOT PROVIDED BY LAUSD. THIS EXPENDITURE BENEFITTED ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES K THROUGH 5. OTHER MISCELLANEOUS GRANTS: THESE EXPENDITURES INCLUDED THE LEADER IN ME PROGRAM,KOREAN DRUM INSTRUCTION, SCHOLASTIC NEWS PUBLICATIONS, TEACHER SUPPLIES AND SUPPORT,AND CULMINATION SUPPLIES.
