THE GIVING PLATE, INC. (TGP) OPERATES AS A 501C3 CHARITABLE FOOD PANTRY DEDICATED TO PROVIDING FOOD-RELIEF SERVICES TO LOW-TO-MODERATE-INCOME INDIVIDUALS RESIDING ANYWHERE IN CENTRAL OREGON. TGP IS PROUD TO REPORT A YEAR OF SIGNIFICANT IMPACT IN OUR MISSION TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SUPPORT TO OUR COMMUNITY DURING THE 2023 CALENDAR YEAR. IN LINE WITH OUR VISION TO END HUNGER BY REIMAGINING FOOD RELIEF, WE DISTRIBUTED AN IMPRESSIVE 913,946 POUNDS OF FOOD, REACHING OVER 76,300 INDIVIDUALS, WITH A NOTABLE 64% OF THOSE BEING CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18.IN OUR GROCERY PROGRAM, WE ASSISTED 41,927 HOUSEHOLDS WITH GROCERIES, ENSURING THAT FAMILIES HAD ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD. OUR KID'S KORNER PROGRAM DISTRIBUTED 18,435 BAGS OF FOOD TO CHILDREN, SUPPLEMENTING THEIR FAMILY'S GROCERIES AND OFFERING A LIFELINE TO THOSE IN NEED. THE BACKPACKS FOR BEND PROGRAM PROVIDED 15,634 BAGS OF WEEKEND FOOD TO APPROXIMATELY 460 K-12 STUDENTS, ENSURING THEY DIDN'T EXPERIENCE HUNGER DURING WEEKENDS.BUT OUR COMMITMENT GOES BEYOND NOURISHING BODIES; IT EXTENDS TO FEEDING HOPE. WE PROVIDED STRUGGLING INDIVIDUALS WITH 93 $30 GAS/PROPANE CARDS, OFFERING ESSENTIAL ASSISTANCE IN TIMES OF NEED. ADDITIONALLY, OUR DEDICATION TO BRINGING JOY AND HOPE TO OUR COMMUNITY SHONE BRIGHTLY THROUGH INITIATIVES LIKE DISTRIBUTING 212 EASTER BASKETS TO KIDS AGED 1-12 AND HOSTING 944 LOW-TO-MODERATE INCOME CHILDREN AT OUR JINGLE STORE EVENT IN DECEMBER. THIS MAGICAL WINTER WONDERLAND ALLOWED THEM TO MEET MR. & MRS. CLAUS, BUDDY THE ELF, PRINCESSES, AND MORE WHILE ALSO RECEIVING $10 IN JINGLE BUCKS TO SHOP FOR GIFTS TO GIVE TO THEIR LOVED ONES.AS WE REFLECT ON 2023, THESE ACCOMPLISHMENTS UNDERSCORE OUR UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO NOT ONLY FIGHTING HUNGER BUT ALSO NURTURING THE SPIRIT OF HOPE IN THE HEARTS OF THOSE WE SERVE.
