THE LITERACY COALITION OF CENTRAL TEXAS (LCCT) IS A NON-PROFIT WITH A MISSION TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF INTERGENERATIONAL POVERTY THROUGH HOLISTIC LITERACY SERVICES. WE ENVISION A COMMUNITY THAT IS 100% LITERATE, EMPLOYABLE, AND SELF-SUFFICIENT. LITERACY COALITION OF CENTRAL TEXAS WAS FOUNDED IN 2001 BY A NETWORK OF LITERACY PROVIDERS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO ENSURE CENTRAL TEXAS FAMILIES HAVE SKILLS TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. THE LITERACY COALITION DESIGNS CUTTING-EDGE, EVIDENCE-BASED CURRICULA AND PROGRAMS. WE SHARE THESE INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS WITH 67 LITERACY, WORKFORCE, AND SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO BOOST COMMUNITY IMPACT. TEXAS FAMILY LITERACY AMERICORPS - THE LITERACY COALITION OF CENTRAL TEXAS AMPLIFIES ITS MISSION BY TRAINING AND PLACING TEXAS FAMILY LITERACY AMERICORPS MEMBERS WITH NON-PROFIT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE DIRECT SERVICES IN ADULT EDUCATION, EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACY, ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE, AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION - ADULTS PARTICIPATE IN A UNIQUE VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR MIDDLE-SKILLED JOBS IN THE COMMERCIAL HEATING AND VENTILATION AIR CONDITION (HVAC) INDUSTRY.
