TO PROVIDE BASIC NEEDS ASSISTANCE FOR NEIGHBORS IN NEED IN NORTH CENTRAL DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA.

IN 2021, THE FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTED 749,454 POUNDS OF FRESH FOOD TO 35,373 PEOPLE FROM 12,895 FAMILIES; HALF OF THE FAMILIES HAD CHILDREN. 15% OF THOSE SERVED WERE SENIORS AND 15% OF THOSE SERVED WERE HOMELESS. FAMILIES RECEIVED AN AVERAGE OF 58 POUNDS OF FOOD THAT INCLUDED FRESH PRODUCE, DAIRY, AND MEAT IN ADDITION DRY GOODS AND STAPLES. 2,812 HOT MEALS WERE SERVED TO UNHOUSED INDIVIDUALS. THE CLOTHING PANTRY DISTRIBUTED 18,809 ARTICLES OF CLOTHING, AND PROVIDED 375 HYGIENE KITS.
THCA ENGAGED 15 AREA CONGREGATIONS IN SUSTAINED PARTNERSHIP, ENGAGED 7 PARTNERS TO HOST COVID VACCINE CLINICS, SUPPORTED THREE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES WITH SERVICE-LEARNING PROGRAMS, AND FACILITATED THE WORK OF 20 LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT PROVIDED FOOD, SUPPLIES, SERVICES AND VOLUNTEERS. IT CONTINUED ITS PARTNERSHIP. THROUGH A COVID FUND GRANT FROM DEKALB COUNTY, WE BOUGHT A REFRIGERATED VAN AT THE END OF 2020. BECAUSE OF THIS, AND THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK AND SECOND HELPINGS ATLANTA, OUR DONATIONS OF FRESH FOOD INCREASED BY 15%.
