THE CALIFORNIA ACADEMY FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL AND EXTRA CURRICULAR OBJECTIVES OF THE MULTIMEDIA ARTS AND DESIGN ACADEMY, A SCHOOL WITHIN SANTA BARBARA HIGH SCHOOL, A PUBLIC SCHOOL IN SANTA BARBARA CALIFORNIA.

IN 2020-2021, THE MAD ACADEMY WENT THROUGH A SERIES OF VERY LARGE CHANGES WITH THE BIGGEST IMPACT BEING COVID IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. DESPITE ALL THE CHANGES AND CHALLENGES, THE ??? MAD STUDENTS CONTINUES TO LEARN STATE OF THE ART MEDIA ART SCHOOLS TAUGHT BY MEDIA ART PROFESSIONALS. THE MAD ACADEMY HOSTED A LARGE VARIETY OF MEDIA PROFESSIONALS AS GUEST SPEAKERS TO SPEAK TO OUR REMOTE STUDENTS. PRIOR TO THE LOCKDOWN, OUR STUDENTS WORKED WITH A LOCAL MEDIA PROJECTIONIST TO CREATE ARTISTIC MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS PROJECTED ON THE WALLS OF A BIG FUNDRAISER EVENT. IN 2020-2021, MAD HAS DOUBLED OUR EFFORTS ON MAKING EVERY ELEMENT OF THE PROGRAM FOCUSED ON THE STUDY AND CREATION OF MEDIA ARTS AND PREPARING STUDENTS FOR CREATIVE JOBS.
