THE YOSEMITE HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES CONTRIBUTIONS FROM A NUMBER OF LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS. THESE ENTITIES SELECT THEIR OWN CANDIDATES ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN CRITERIA, SUCH AS FOLLOWING A VOCATIONAL COURSE OF STUDY, MEDICINE AND NURSING, OR ATTENDANCE AT A GIVEN UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE. THE GROUP OR ORGANIZATION THEN CHOOSES THE AMOUNT OF EACH SCHOLARSHIP GIVEN. THE YOSEMITE HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION DEPOSITS THESE FUNDS INTO CHECKING/SAVINGS ACCOUNTS TO DRAW ON SUCH FUNDS FOR DISBURSEMENT. THESE DISBURSEMENTS ARE MADE DURING THE FALL AND SPRING SEMESTERS TO THE STUDENT-SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS. THE ONLY REGULATORY FUNCTION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO VERIFY THAT THE STUDENT-SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ARE ENROLLED IN AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL AND TAKING A MINIMUM NUMBER OF CLASS HOURS PER SEMESTER.DURING THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR, SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALLING $55,875 WERE DISBURSED TO 47 STUDENT RECIPIENTS.
