ISPF WAS ORGANIZED FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. ISPF ITSELF DOES NOT RAISE FUNDS BUT IS A HOLDING CORPORATION FOR THE MONIES RAISED BY APPROVED SPECIAL PROJECTS.

COLLEGE COSTS HAVE DOUBLED OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS, AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER. APPLCANTS ARE RESIDENTS OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO WOMEN TO HELP THEM PURSUE A COLLEGE OR OTHER LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE. RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BASED ON ACADEMIC RECORD, ESSAYS, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND INTERVIEWS. A TOTAL OF 47 SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS WERE MADE. FOLLOWING THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS, RECIPIENTS ARE OFFERED, THROUGH THE NATIONAL AAUW ORGANIZATION, WORKSHOPS AND OTHER RESOURCES TO ENHANCE THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS AFTER COLLEGE.


TECH TREK IS A RESIDENTIAL SCIENCE AND MATH CAMP FOR GIRLS WHO HAVE FINISHED 7TH GRADE. CAMPERS MUST BE RECOMMENDED BY THEIR SCIENCE OR MATH TEACHERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM, AND ATTEND AN INTERVIEW. TWELVE 12 GIRLS PARTICIPATED IN THE VIRTUAL CAMPTHIS YEAR, AND 2 PARTICIPATED IN IN-PERSON CAMP. MONEY ALREADY ALLOCATED TO TECH TREK WILL BE HELD UNTIL NEXT YEAR.


SEVERAL PROJECTS HAVE HELPED HUNDREDS OF LOCAL LOW-INCOME WOMEN AND CHILDREN. GIFT BAGS WERE GIVEN TO 504 LOW-INCOME TEENAGERS; ASSISTANCE WASPROVIDED TO SEVERAL HOMELESS SHELTERS AND EMERGENCY FOOD PROVIDERS; THANKSGIVING DINNER AND MONTHLY LUNCHES WERE GIVEN TO MANY HOMELESS WOMEN; SUPPLIES WERE PROVIDED FOR ORGANIZATIONS HELPING THE HOMELESS; AND RECREATION AND REFRESHMENTS WERE PROVIDED AT RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES FOR THE MENTALLY DISABLED. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED FOR SEVERAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ADDRESSING LITERACY AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.
