JUNIOR GUARD BOOSTERS - SUPPORTED THE SUMMER 2020 SEASON OF THE JUNIOR LIFE GUARD PROGRAM WITH EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. ALSO SPONSORED CHILDREN WHO WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. DURING THE SUMMER 2020 SEASON, SUPPORTED PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S EFFORTS TO LAUNCH AN INNOVATIVE VIRTUAL JUNIOR GUARDS PROGRAM IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS.SENIOR CENTER - DURING COVID SUPPORTED PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S EFFORTS TO CREATE A VIRTUAL SENIOR PROGRAM WITH ONLINE ZOOM CLASSES RANGING FROM LINE DANCING, YOGA, CREATIVE WRITING, ETC. CONTINUED EFFORTS TO CONNECT AND ASSIST SENIORS IN GAINING ACCESS TO THEIR COMMUNITY ONLINE WHEN IN-PERSON GATHERINGS WERE NOT PERMITTED.BEACH FLATS OUTREACH & TEENS PROJECT - PROGRAMS SERVE CHILDREN IN LOW-INCOME AREAS OF THE CITY AND PROVIDE EDUCATION AT FACILITIES IN SANTA CRUZ AREA. HOWEVER, DURING COVID THESE PROGRAMS HAD TO PAUSE IN-PERSON OUTREACH AND PROJECTS.HARVEY WEST POOL - CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE POOL BY HELPING FUND MINOR UPGRADES AND POOL MAINTENANCE PROJECTS. YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS - AWARDED PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LOW-INCOME YOUTH AND PROVIDED YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ESSENTIAL CHILD CARE PROGRAMS THAT WERE LAUNCHED TO HELP WORKING FAMILIES DURING COVID.
