FOUNDED IN 2003, KID'S CHANCE OF TENNESEE IS DEVOTED TO PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO CHILDREN OF TN WORKERS WHO HAVE BEEN KILLED OR SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC INJURIES IN WORK-RELATED ACCIDENTS. WE BELIEVE THAT BY INVESTING IN OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE, WE CAN PROVIDE THEM WITH THE TOOLS AND OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.IN 2021, THERE WERE 132 FATALITIES SUFFERED IN THE WORKPLACE IN TN (SOURCE: US BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS). MANY MORE WORKERS SUSTAINED SERIOUS OR CATASTROPHIC INJURIES THAT IMPACTED THEIR ABILITY TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THEIR FAMILY. AS OUR STATE CONTINUES TO GROW ECONOMICALLY, EMPLOYERS REQUIRE SKILLED AND TRAINED WORKERS TO MEET THEIR BUSINESS AND MANUFACTURING NEEDS. KID'S CHANCE HELPS WITH THIS GROWTH BY PROVIDING AN EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN OF TENNESSEE EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY A WORKPLACE INJURY.TO DATE, WE HAVE PROVIDED 39 STUDENTS WITH SCHOLARSHIPS ENABLING THEM TO ATTEND VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL TRAINING, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.IN 2023, WE PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $63,000 TO 10 STUDENTS ATTENDING 9 DIFFERENT UNIVERSITIES INCLUDING UNIVERSITY OF TN-KNOXVILLE, UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE-CHATTANOOGA, MIDDLE TN STATE UNIVERSITY, LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, TENNESSEE TECH UNIVERSITY, & UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY.
