CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS CONSIST PRIMARILY OF PROVIDING CLOTHING FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE PROGRAMS. CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE SELDOM HAVE NEW SCHOOL CLOTHES, AS BUDGETS ARE SO SPARCE THAT NEW SCHOOL CLOTHES BECOME A LUXURY. BUT FOR CHILDREN ALREADY FACING NEARLY INSURMOUNTABLE PROBLEMS OF IDENTITY AND WORTH, PEER PRESSURE, AND RIDICULE BASED ON OLD OR INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHING CAN BE DEVASTATING. BEAUMONT FOUNDATION GRANTS WORK IN CLOSE COORDINATION WITH THE MAJOR FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS TO HELP OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM. FINALLY, OUR CHILDREN OF FALLEN HEROES PROGRAM IS A LEGACY OF OUR ORIGINAL MISSION TO PROVIDE TECHNOLOGY GRANTS. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES LAPTOP COMPUTERS TO DEPENDENT CHILDREN AND SPOUSES OF MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN IRAQ OR AFGHANISTAN.
