HISTORIC HOUSTON IS A NON-PROFIT DEDICATED TO THE PRESERVATION AND CONSERVATION OF HOUSTON'S HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE AND ARCHITECTURAL BUILDING RESOURCES. THROUGH RECLAIMING AND REUSE, THESE RESOURCES ARE DIVERTED FROM THE WASTE STREAM TO PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABLITY AND RESOURCE CONSERVATION.

THE DECONSTRUCTION AND SALVAGE PROGRAM INVOLVES DECONSTRUCTING HOMES SLATED FOR DEMOLITION TO RECLAIM HISTORIC BUILDING MATERIALS AS A CONSERVATION PRACTICE AND TO REDUCE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS ENTERING THE WASTE STREAM.


THE RELOCATION PROGRAM INVOLVES MOVING HISTORIC HOMES TO PREVENT THEIR DEMOLITION AND AS A PRESERVATION TOOL. THERE WAS NO ACTIVITY FOR THIS PROGRAM IN 2022.
