THE RISE SCHOOL OF HOUSTON PROVIDES EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION SERVICES TO CHILDREN AGES SIX MONTHS TO SIX YEARS WITH DOWN SYNDROME AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AS WELL AS CHILDREN WITHOUT DISABILITIES.

SEE SCHEDULE OTHE RISE SCHOOL PROVIDES FAMILY-CENTERED SERVICES DESIGNED TO MEET THE INDIVIDUALIZED NEEDS OF ALL CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. THE SCHOOL'S GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A BLEND OF EDUCATIONAL AND THERAPY SERVICES WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF A DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM AND TO PREPARE CHILDREN FOR THEIR NEXT EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT. THE SCHOOL HAS AN ENROLLMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 90 STUDENTS. 60% OF THE STUDENTS HAVE DOWN SYNDROME, 11% HAVE OTHER DISABILITIES, AND 29% ARE NON-DISABLED. 51% REPRESENT MINORITY POPULATIONS. DURING THE 2020 SCHOOL YEAR, THE SCHOOL PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 64% OF ITS STUDENTS.THE SCHOOL HAS AN AFFILIATION AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TO PROVIDE A COORDINATED PROGRAM TO MEET THE NEEDS OF ITS STUDENTS. UNDER THE AFFILIATION AGREEMENT, TEXAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL PROVIDES UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE, HOUSEKEEPING, SECURITY, THERAPISTS, AND CONSULTATION RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF THE SCHOOL WITHOUT CHARGE.
