THE TEEN HEALTH CENTER, INC. STRENGTHENS THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF GALVESTON'S YOUTH THROUGH EASILY ACCESSIBLE, SCHOOL-BASED CARE. CLINICS ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND HIGH SCHOOLS TO MEET STUDENTS' HEALTH CARE NEEDS WITHOUT MISSING TOO MUCH CLASS TIME. PARENTS DO NOT HAVE TO MISS WORK TO TAKE THEIR CHILDREN TO THE DOCTOR, AND SICK PATIENTS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS SEEN WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE REQUEST. MOST PATIENTS ARE STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOLS WHERE CLINICS ARE LOCATED, BUT COMMUNITY MEMBERS 21 YEARS AND YOUNGER ARE WELCOME TO RECEIVE CARE AT ANY TEEN HEALTH CENTER CLINIC.TEEN HEALTH'S FIVE MEDICAL CLINICS ARE MANAGED BY LICENSED PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND OVERSEEN BY A BOARD-CERTIFIED DOCTOR IN PEDIATRICS AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH. MEDICAL SERVICES INCLUDE EXAMINATION, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OF ACUTE AND CHRONIC ILLNESS; IMMUNIZATIONS FOR ELIGIBLE PATIENTS; WELL-CHILD EXAMS; WELL-WOMAN EXAMS; AND TREATMENT OF MINOR INJURIES.
