FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 - AUGUST 31, 2021, THE CATASTROPHIC THEATRE PRESENTED FOUR TOURS OF ORIGINAL VARIETY SHOWS, WHICH WERE PERFORMED LIVE IN THE BACKYARDS OF AUDIENCE MEMBERS, AS WELL AS VIRTUAL PRODUCTIONS OF TWO ORIGINAL MUSICALS, AN ORIGINAL SHORT FILM, AND THREE FILMS OF ORIGINAL MICRO PLAYS. BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE CREATED AND PERFORMED A SEASON (13 SHOWS) OF ALL NEW OUTDOOR OR VIRTUAL WORK: THREE NEW MUSICALS, TWO PROPER FILMS, FOUR VARIETY SHOWS, AND FOUR LIVE SCREENINGS. THE THEATRE ALSO CREATED AND PRODUCED CIVIC ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES, INCLUDING WORKSHOPS FOR UNDERSERVED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, CURATED HISTORICAL TOURS, AND A NEIGHBORHOOD ART PROJECT. THE ORGANIZATION ENGAGED 106 THEATRE ARTISTS AND PRESENTED A TOTAL OF 6 IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES, REACHING 2066 AUDIENCE MEMBERS.
