THE FOUNDATION OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES (THE FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO FACILITATE AND EXPAND THE EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES (NATAS). WHILE THE FOUNDATION IS CLOSELY ALLIED WITH NATAS, IT MAINTAINS ITS INDEPENDENT STATUS AS A 501(C)(3) TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATION WITH OFFICERS AND GOVERNANCE SEPARATE FROM THE PARENT ACADEMY.THE FOUNDATION'S OLDEST AND LARGEST PROGRAM INVOLVES THE AWARDING OF SEVEN MAJOR SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO INTEND TO PURSUE A BACCALAUREATE DEGREE IN COMMUNICATION WITH EMPHASIS ON ANY ASPECT OF THE TELEVISION INDUSTRY. THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO IDENTIFY THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO DEMONSTRATE EXCEPTIONAL TALENT AS PRODUCERS OF CREATIVE VIDEO PROGRAMMING AS WELL AS OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND POTENTIAL FOR SUCCESS IN A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE PROFESSION. THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, FOR OVER 20 YEARS, HAS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO DOZENS OF HIGHLY TALENTED AND DIVERSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE ATTENDED SUCH PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES AS COLUMBIA, STANFORD, NYU, USC, NORTHWESTERN, PENN STATE, TEXAS, MISSOURI, IOWA, ALABAMA, MIAMI (OHIO), ARIZONA STATE, AND FLORIDA.
