THE GRAPEVINE-COLLEYVILLE EDUCATION FOUNDATION GENERATES AND DISTRIBUTES RESOURCES TO THE GRAPEVINE-COLLEYVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS.

THE FOUNDATION MANAGES A PERMANENT ENDOWMENT TO SUPPORT CAMPUS ACTIVITIES, SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS, AND OTHER GRANT PROGRAMS. THE ENDOWMENT IS INVESTED IN PUBLICLY TRADED MARKETABLE SECURITIES MANAGED BY PROFESSIONAL INVESTMENT ADVISORS. AN INVESTMENT COMMITTEE MADE UP OF BOARD MEMBERS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS HIRE THE INVESTMENT ADVISORS AND OVERSEE INVESTMENT AND SPENDING POLICIES. ENDOWMENT EARNINGS ARE UTILIZED FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED BY THE DONORS.
GRANTS WERE AWARDED FOR CLASSROOM, SCHOOL OR DISTRICT-WIDE PROJECTS WITHIN GCISD. THESE GRANTS ARE FUNDED BY ANNUAL CAMPAIGN DONATIONS, NET PROCEEDS FROM SPECIAL EVENTS, AND DONOR DESIGNATED CONTRIBUTIONS. GRANT PROPOSALS ARE EVALUATED BY A VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE OF BOARD MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION HOSTED TWO SPECIAL EVENTS: A LUNCHEON TO WELCOME NEWLY-HIRED TEACHERS, AND AN ACADEMIC RECOGNITION BANQUET HONORING TOP-RANKED GRADUATING SENIORS, DISTINGUISHED TEACHERS, AND THE GCISD TEACHERS AND PARAPROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR.
