PRATHAM USA'S PRIMARY OBJECTIVES ARE RAISING FUNDS TO SUPPORT PRATHAM'S EDUCATIONAL, VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES, PROVIDING GUIDANCE ON THE USE OF PRATHAM USA FUNDS BY PRATHAM, INCREASING AWARENESS OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE UNDERPRIVILEGED IN THE COUNTRIES SERVED BY PRATHAM, OVERSEEING THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF THE PRATHAM USA BRAND, AND PROVIDING AND PROMOTING VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL, TRAINING, AND RELATED ACTIVITIES IN INDIA AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.

PRATHAM'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOCUS ON THREE MAJOR AGE GROUPS OF CHILDREN: IN THEIR EARLY YEARS (AGES 3-8) BY HELPING CHILDREN PREPARE FOR SCHOOL; IN PRIMARY SCHOOL YEARS (AGES 8-10) BY DEVELOPING READING, WRITING AND NUMERACY SKILLS THROUGH ENGAGING, HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES THAT HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO IMPROVE LEARNING DRASTICALLY; AND MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YEARS (AGES 11-18) IN BUILDING THEIR SKILLS FOR SCHOOL, WORK AND LIFE. PRATHAM'S WORK IS BOTH IN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. IN ADDITION, PRATHAM ALSO WORKS WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS TO TRANSFER KNOW-HOW AND TO SUPPORT LEARNING FOR MILLIONS OF CHILDREN.
PRATHAM'S TEACHING AT THE RIGHT LEVEL (TARL) PROGRAM BUILDS FOUNDATIONAL READING AND MATH SKILLS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN. THIS PROGRAM, WHICH HAS BEEN TRIED AND TESTED FOR SEVERAL YEARS IN INDIA, IS NOW BEING REPLICATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ABDUL LATIF JAMEEL POVERTY ACTION LAB (J-PAL) IN A FEW COUNTRIES IN AFRICA. PRATHAM IS THE TECHNICAL PARTNER SUPPORTING GOVERNMENTS AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN AFRICA IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TARL METHOD.
THE VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM PREPARES INDIA'S YOUTH FOR SUCCESS BY TEACHING RELEVANT SKILLS FOR TODAY. THE PROGRAM TAKES YOUTH AND PUTS THEM THROUGH VIRTUAL AND HANDS-ON TRAINING OFFERED ACROSS MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES: HOSPITALITY, CONSTRUCTION, AUTOMOTIVE, BEDSIDE ASSISTANCE, ETC. THE PROGRAM ALSO OFFERS ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO START THEIR OWN MICRO ENTERPRISES.
