AT JOURNEY OF HOPE, WE ARE ON A MISSION TO RENEW HOPE, FOSTER HEALING, AND DEVELOP RESILIENCE IN THE HEARTS OF CHILDREN GRIEVING THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2020, JOURNEY OF HOPES CORE PROGRAM, THE BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM, SERVED 501 CHILDREN AND FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WERE GRIEVING THE DEATH OF A LOVED ONE, PROVIDING 239 SUPPORT GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN ADDITION TO SPECIAL PROGRAMS. IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, JOURNEY OF HOPE BEGAN OFFERING VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUPS AND CREATED THE HOPE AT HOME PROGRAM, SERVING MORE THAN 230 CHILDREN BY DELIVERING OVER 150 SUPPORT PACKS WITH ACTIVITIES, GAMES AND SUPPLIES TO SUPPLEMENT THE VIRTUAL PROGRAM. WE HELD OUR FIRST EVER CAR CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL IN DECEMBER, HELPING OVER 125 CHILDREN AND ADULTS REMEMBER THEIR LOVED ONES. WE ALSO CONTINUED TO PROVIDE A VIRTUAL SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM.JOURNEY OF HOPE ALSO PROVIDED CRISIS SUPPORT THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM FOR 42 PEOPLE IN SCHOOLS AND OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS WHERE THERE HAD BEEN AN UNEXPECTED DEATH. JOURNEY OF HOPE TRAINED 141 SCHOOL COUNSELORS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS WHO HELP GRIEVING CHILDREN ON VARIOUS TOPICS OF HOW TO SUPPORT CHILDREN AFTER A DEATH, AND CONTINUED TO SERVE FAMILIES FROM TEN COUNTIES IN NORTH TEXAS AND ONE FAMILY IN ANOTHER STATE.
