THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO CONSTRUCT DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES, AND TO SHOW THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGH ACTION IN THE LUBBOCK, TEXAS AREA.

CONSTRUCTION OF HOMES FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN NEED OF HOUSING. THE FAMILIES ARE SELECTED BASED ON NEED AND MUST MEET 3 QUALIFICATION: 1) CURRENTLY LIVING IN UNSAFE OR OVERCROWDED CONDITIONS. 2) HAVE AN ABILITY TO PAY AN INTEREST FREE MORTGAGE PAYMENT EACH MONTH AS WELL AS THE UPKEEP OF THE PROPERTY. 3) SHOW A WILLINGNESS TO PARTNER WITH HABITAT, THEY MUST GIVE 500 HOURS OF SWEAT EQUITY ON THEIR HOME CONSTRUCTION OR IN THE HABITAT OFFICE.
HABITAT PROVIDES FAMILY SUPPORT BY GUIDING THE FAMILIES THROUGH THE PROCESS OF HOME OWNERSHIP THROUGH HOME BUYER WORKSHOPS, HOMEOWNER CALENDARS, HABITAT UNIVERSITY (CLASSES ABOUT HOMEOWNERSHIP, REPAIRS, MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, TAXES & INSURANCE), AND EVENTS FOR HOMEOWNERS TO NETWORK WITH ONE ANOTHER.
