GRANTS FOR INNOVATIVE CLASSROOM TEACHING - GRANTS ARE AWARDED TO MISD SCHOOL DISCRETIONARY ACCOUNTS TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONAL CONTENT, MATERIALS, RESOURCES, AND PROCESSES FOR EVALUATING THE ATTAINMENT OF UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES. GRANTS ARE AWARDED BASED ON REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS FROM TEACHERS AND PRINCIPALS REGARDING SPECIFIC CRITERIA. EACH CLASSROOM LEARNING PROJECT SUPPORTED HAS A FOLLOW UP REVIEW OF THE OUTCOME OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INSTRUCTION.
GRANTS FOR EDUCATION - GRANTS ARE PAID AS SCHOLARSHIPS TO COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT COURSE PROVIDERS TO ASSIST EMPLOYEES WITH THE FINANCIAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCED EDUCATION FOR CLASSROOM TEACHING. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ALSO AWARDED BY APPROVED APPLICATION FOR STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO PURSUE DEGREES IN EDUCATION AND FOR TOP ACADEMIC SCHOLARS IN THE CURRENT GRADUATING CLASS BASED ON CLASS GRADE POINT RANKING. GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS PER PERSON ARE CAPPED AT AN ANNUAL BUDGET LIMIT SET BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. TEACHERS AND EMPLOYEES RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO REPORT ON THE PROGRESS OF THEIR PURSUIT OF AN ADVANCED EDUCATION.
