TRANSPORT WORKERS UNION OF AMERICA IS A LABOR ORGANIZATION WHICH FUNCTIONS AS THE LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE AND SOLE BARGAINING AGENT FOR THE FLIGHT DISPATCHERS, DISPATCH ASSISTANTS, AND METEOROLOGISTS EMPLOYED BY SOUTHWEST AIRLINES. THE ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITIES INCLUDE NEGOTIATING AMENDMENTS TO THE LABOR AGREEMENT, NEGOTIATING DISPATCHER COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS, REPRESENTING MEMBERS IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS (INCLUDING PAYING RELATED FINES ASSESSED AGAINST THE MEMBER) OR GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES AND CONDUCTING STANDARDIZATIONS/SAFETY PROGRAM WITH THE PILOTS AND SOUTHWEST AIRLINES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO FUNCTIONS TO IMPROVE ITS MEMBERS' WORKING CONDITIONS AND HELP DEVELOP A HIGHER DEGREE OF EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY OF ITS MEMBERS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY OF AIR TRANSPORTATION.
