THE FORT WORTH POLICE OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FORMED IN 1948 TO BETTER THE WORKING CONDITIONS OF POLICE OFFICERS IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH. THE ASSOCIATION INFORMS LOCAL AND STATE LEGISLATIVE BODIES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF GENERAL LAWS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THE GENERAL WELFARE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. THE ASSOCIATION FOSTERS AND ENCOURAGES A HIGH DEGREE OF SKILL AND EFFICIENCY AMONG POLICE OFFICERS. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO COLLECTIVELY BARGAINS AN EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF FORT WORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBERSHIP REGARDING WAGES, BENEFITS, AND OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.
