SACRI ADVOCATED FOR PROVIDING $500K TO THE POINT - A UNITED WAY PROGRAM THAT HELPS INDIVIDUALS 55 OR OLDER WHO ARE (1) LIVING WITH DISABLILITY OR (2) ARE A CAREGIVER TO GET CONNECTED TO RESOURCES IN THEIR AREA. SACRI ADVOCATED TO ENABLE MORE SENIORS TO QUALIFY FOR THE MEDICARE PREMIUM SAVINGS PLAN THAT WOULD SAVE THEM UP TO $2K A YEAR-MONEY THAT COULD BE USED FOR LIVING EXPENSES AND ALLOW THEM TO BETTER AGE IN PLACE.SACRI ADVOCATED TO ADD 5 STAFF PERSONS TO THE OFFICE OF HEALTH AGING, WITH 2 STAFFERS WORKING FOR THE OFFICE OF ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM.SACRI ADVOCATED FOR INCREASING THE STARTING SALARY OF HOMECARE AND NURSING HOME STAFF TO $20 AN HOUR.SACRI ADVOCATED TO INCREASE WEEKS OF PAID LEAVE IN TEMPORARY CAREGIVER INSURANCE PROGRAMSACRI ADVOCATED TO INCREASE THE PERSONAL NEEDS ALLOWANCE FOR NURSING HOME RESIDENTS ON MEDICAID.
