THE JOHN D. MINECK FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO JUNIOR GOLFERS WHO HAVE ATTAINED A HIGH LEVEL OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND GOOD CITZENSHIP AND GRANTS FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES. DURING THE YEAR THE FOUNDATION AWARDED THREE SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $22,500. THE FOUNDATION ALSO AWARDED GRANTS TO THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOR PARENTS OF PATIENTS HOUSING, TO THE SOCIETY FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS FOR A YOUNG FURNITURE ARTISTS FELLOWSHIP, TO THE MA FIRST TEE PROGRAM FOR THE SUPPORT OF GOLF EVENTS IN BOSTON AND NORTON, MA, TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS AMHERST TURFGRASS PROGRAM, TO THE AMERICAN JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION, AND TO THE OUTPOST FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT THE CAVEMAN SCHOLARSHIP.
