THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FAITH-BASED SERVICES BASED ON THE GLOBAL CRISIS IN MATERNAL, NEWBORN, AND CHILD HEALTH. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE THE PLANNING, BUILDING, AND SUPPORT OF CLINICS AND BIRTH CENTERS IN THE PHILIPPINES, AND THE OPERATION OF A 4-YEAR DISTANCE EDUCATION COLLEGE OF MIDWIFERY IN THE USA. THE COLLEGE PROVIDES BOTH PRIMARY AND CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR MIDWIVES, AND THE CLINICS AND BIRTH CENTERS PROVIDE CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION, FAMILY SUPPORT, AND THE DIRECT PROVISION OF MATERNITY HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR THE PRENATAL AND POSTPARTUM PERIODS, AS WELL AS LABOR AND DELIVERY AND NEWBORN CARE.

IN 2023, MERCY IN ACTION SUPPORTED BIRTH CENTERS AND CLINICS IN THE PHILIPPINES: MIDWIVES DELIVERED 381 BABIES BORN IN 2023 IN THE BIRTH CENTERS IN THE PHILIPPINES THAT WE SUPPORT. THE MIDWIVES CONDUCTED MORE THAN 965 PRENATAL EXAMS IN OUR SPONSORED CLINICS. ALL OF THIS MATERNITY CARE WAS PROVIDED FREE OF COST TO THE PATIENT'S FAMILY. IN ADDITION, WE DONATED THOUSANDS OF PRENATAL VITAMINS TO OUR OWN PATIENTS AND TO THE PREGNANT AND POSTPARTUM VICTIMS OF NATURAL DISASTERS IN THE REGIONS SURROUNDING CLINICS ON LUZON, LEYTE, AND SAMAR ISLANDS. THE FIRST 1,000 DAYS TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH FOLLOWS BABIES BORN IN OUR SPONSORED CLINICS UNTIL AGE TWO BY PROVIDING MONTHLY HOME VISITS TO WEIGH AND FOLLOW UP ON GENERAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS, CONTNUED TO GROW. 2,389 HOME VISITS WERE CONDUCTED IN 2023 AS PART OF THE FIRST 1,000 DAYS PROGRAM. IN ADDI6ON, MERCY IN ACTON IS IN THE PLANNING PHASES OF BUILDING AND SPONSORING ANOTHER BIRTH CENTER AND HEALTH CLINIC IN THE PHILIPPINES. MERCY IN AC6ON ALSO DELIVERED EDUCATION IN THE USA AND GLOBALLY: OUR MERCY IN ACTION COLLEGE OF MIDWIFERY TAUGHT OVER 150 STUDENTS MATRICULATED IN THE USA THROUGH OUR ACCREDITED DISTANCE MIDWIFERY PROGRAM. 15 PEOPLE GRADUATED WITH THEIR BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN MIDWIFERY IN 2023. OUR DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL MIDWIFERY & MATERNAL/CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM TAUGHT 58 SCHOLARS FROM AROUND THE WORLD REPRESENTING 20 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. 82 MIDWIVES AND MIDWIFE STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT IN LIVE MERCY IN ACTION SEMINARS. FOR OUR DISTANCE CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM, WE DELIVERED ACCREDITED ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION (CEUS) TO OVER 1500 PEOPLE THROUGH OUR ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION PLATFORM.
