YELLOW BIKE PROJECT IS A VOLUNTEER-POWERED INITIATIVE TO PUT BICYCLES ON THE STREETS OF AUSTIN AND CENTRAL TEXAS BY OPERATING COMMUNITY BIKE SHOPS, TEACHING BIKE MECHANICS AND MAINTENANCE, AND ACTING AS A LOCAL BIKE ADVOCACY GROUP.

EMPLOYED 8 MECHANICS TO REFURBISH AND SELL 436 USED BICYCLES TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. REFURBISHED AND DONATED 245 ADULT BIKES TO 21 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND 250 KID BIKES TO 8 LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, 3 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. PROVIDED EDUCATION TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY BY HOLDIN 241 COMMUNITY SHOPS PROVIDING KNOWLEDGE AND TOOLS TO 3,498 MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. HELD 11 EDUCATIONAL CLASSES FOR 59 ADULTS TO LEARN BICYCLE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SKILLS.
