TO PROVIDE STREAMLINED MEDICAID CLAIMING SERVICES TO OVER 54 COLORADO SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND ASSIST THOSE SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITH IMPROVING HEALTH SERVICES FOR THEIR STUDENTS.

THE CONSORTIUM PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMMING AND SERVICES FOCUSED ON ADMINISTERING THE MEDICAID SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES (SHS) PROGRAM. SUPPORTING OVER 56 SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND BOARDS OF COOPERATIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (BOCES) IN COLORADO WITH EFFORTS TO MAXIMIZE RESOURCES AND PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH INCREASED AND EQUITABLE ACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICES. TRAINING AND CONSULTATION FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT HEALTH PROVIDERS AND ADMINISTRATORS ASSISTS IN NAVIGATING SHS PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS, AND ADDRESSING THE UNMET HEALTH NEEDS OF OVER 692,925 COLORADO STUDENTS; INFORMING THE EXPANSION OF HEALTH SERVICES IN SCHOOLS, INCLUDING: SYSTEMS CHANGE, STUDENT HEALTH ADVOCACY, IMPLEMENTING INSURANCE OUTREACH AND ENROLLMENT PROGRAMS, LOCAL SERVICES PLAN DEVELOPMENT, MATERIALS, COMMUNICATIONS, WORKSHOPS AND QUARTERLY MEETINGS FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT PROGRAM ADMINISTRATORS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES STREAMLINED MEDICAID CLAIMING SERVICES: WEB- BASED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS, TEMPLATES, TRAINING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR DOCUMENTATION; DATA ENTRY; CLAIMS PROCESSING/SUBMISSIONS, QUALITY ASSURANCE; DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORTING. MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING THE 2022/2023 SCHOOL YEAR INCLUDE: TRAINING OVER 8,926 HEALTH SERVICE PROVIDERS AND ADMINISTRATORS; DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SELF-LED TRAINING PLATFORMS, VIDEOS, GUIDES, AND ONLINE TOOLS THAT RELIEVE ADMINISTRATIVE BURDEN, STREAMLINE SYSTEMS, AND SUPPORT INCREASED USE OF TECHNOLOGY; ADVOCACY FOR THE MEDICAID SHS PROGRAM; AND TARGETED ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO ADDRESS THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF RURAL AND URBAN SCHOOL DISTRICTS. FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2023, THE CONSORTIUM PROCESSED OVER 3.99 MILLION HEALTH SERVICES; PROVIDED OVER 8,016 HOURS OF TRAINING; AND RESPONDED TO OVER 3,547 TELEPHONE/EMAIL SUPPORT REQUESTS FROM SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH PROVIDERS, SCHOOL MEDICAID COORDINATORS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND COMMUNITY HEALTH PROVIDERS.
