THE MISSION OF PIKES PEAK SUICIDE PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP IS TO UNITE THE COMMUNITY IN ADDRESSING SUICIDE IN THE PIKES PEAK REGION THROUGH EDUCATION, INTERVENTION, AND POSTVENTION.

THE GUN PROJECT REDUCED THE ACCESS TO LEATHAL MEANS OF SUICIDE AND GAVE EDUCATION TO FIREARM RETAILERS AND CONSUMERS ABOUT THE CORRELATION BETWEEN SAFE FIREARM STORAGE AND SUICIDE PREVENTION. SAFE STORAGE INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO 114 FIREARM
PSPP PROVIDES TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO EDUCATE ON THEM ON AWARENESS AND SUICIDE PREVENTION. THE RELATED EXPENSES WERE FOR CERTIFICATION OF THE INDIVIDUALS TO FACILITATE THESE TRAININGS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE REVENUE IS DRIVEN FROM ORGANIZATIONS WHO DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE FACILITATION OF THESE TRAININGS. WE PROVIDED SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAININGS OR PRESENTATIONS TO 3,475 COMMUNITY MEMBERS. WE PARTICIPATED IN 38 COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS PROVIDING AWARENESS AND RESOURCE INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC. PPSPP DEVELOPED A TRAINING VIDEO REGARDING SAFE MESSAGING ABOUT SUICIDE WITH A TRAINING POLICY TEMPLATE FOR LOCAL MEDIA PARTNERS. WE ALSO DEVELOPED THE FRAMEWORK FOR THE LOSS LOCAL OUTREACH FOR SUICIDE SURVIVORS TEAM THAT WILL BE PROVIDING IMMEDIATE SUPPORT TO SUICIDE LOSS SURVIVORS BY THE END OF 2022
IN THE AREA OF INTERVENTION, PPSPP PROVIDED 678 INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SESSIONS, 1,101 PEER SUPPORT CONTACTS AND 235 GROUP SESSIONS WITH AN AVERAGE OF 9 PARTICIPANTS PER GROUP, AND 300 DISCHARGE CARE PACKAGES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL YOUTH GETTING DISCHARGED FROM AN IN-PATIENT HOSPITAL STAY AFTER AN ATTEMPT, TO CONNECT THEM TO THE RESOURCES AND PROVIDE COPING TOOLS AND SAFTEFY TIPS FOR THEIR REENTRY BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY. 62 SUICIDE GRIEF THERAPY SESSIONS WERE PROVIDED AND 12 BEREAVEMENT MEETINGS WERE HELD WITH GROUPS OF SUICIDE LOSS SURVIVORS WHO HAD BEEN RECENTLY IMPACTED BY A SUICIDE LOSS TO PROVIDE THE ATTENDEES WITH SUPPORT AND CONNECT THEM TO RESOURCES BEREAVEMENT GROUPS WERE BETWEEN 3-12 ATTENDEES.
