BAT CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE SCIENCE-BASED AND COLLABORATIVE, WORKING WITH CONSERVATION PARTNERS IN THE U.S. AND AROUND THE WORLD TO PROTECT BATS AND THEIR HABITATS BY IDENTIFYING, PROTECTING, AND MANAGING CRITICAL BAT HABITATS AND ADDRESSING BROAD THREATS, LIKE WHITE-NOSE SYNDROME, THAT THREATEN MULTIPLE SPECIES OF BATS. OUR WORK IS FOCUSED ON HIGH-PRIORITY CONSERVATION TARGETS AND BASED ON RIGOROUS SCIENCE AND SHARED DATA. DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT BATS REQUIRES BCI TO DESIGN INNOVATIVE RESEARCH PROGRAMS WHILE MAINTAINING THE ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT SCIENCE-BASED SOLUTIONS ON THE GROUND. BCI ALSO SEEKS TO INCREASE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE ESSENTIAL ROLE BATS PLAY IN THE HEALTH OF ECOSYSTEMS AND HUMAN WELL-BEING.
