TUCSON SCOTTISH RITE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION PROVIDES THE BUILDING FOR THE CHILD LANGUAGE CENTER, A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION EXEMPT UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3). THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS IN THE GRADUATE PROGRAM OF THE HEARING AND SPEECH DEPARTMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES $4,202 PER SEMESTER. RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BY THE DEPARTMENT AND THE PROCESS IS MONITORED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE CHILD LANGUAGE CENTER, WHO IS AN ADJUNCT FACULTY AT THE U OF A. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES TEN $100 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN JUNIOR ROTC IN VARIOUS HIGH SCHOOLS, AS RECOMMENDED BY TEACHERS AND OTHERS AT THE SCHOOLS.
