RESEARCH PROGRAM - DEVELOP NEW IDEAS AND NEW KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF HAND AND UPPER EXTREMITY CARE THROUGH A VARIETY OF GRANTS.
EDUCATION PROGRAM - ELEVATING THE SKILL LEVEL OF SURGEONS IN THE AREAS OF HAND AND UPPER EXTREMITY SURGERY THROUGH FUNDING OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND AWARDING OF GRANTS. INCLUDED IN HERE ARE RESIDENT AND FELLOW SCHOLARSHIPS WHICH ALLOW APPROXIMATELY 300 YOUNG SURGEONS TO ATTEND THE ASSH ANNUAL MEETING AT NO COST.
OUTREACH PROGRAM - TO PROVIDE "SHORT TERM MISSIONS" OF HAND SURGERY/THERAPY IN COMBINATION WITH PRACTICAL EDUCATION ON CURRENT TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR COMMON PROBLEMS IN UNDERSERVED AREAS. IN 2021, THIS INCLUDED THE TOUCHING HANDS WHICH RECEIVED DONATED EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES TO ASSIST WITH THESE MISSIONS.
