NAMI CENTRAL TEXAS OFFERS AN ARRAY OF PEER EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS OF MENTAL HEALTH CONSUMERS. NAMI CENTRAL TEXAS'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS PROVIDE RELEVANT INFORMATION, VALUABLE INSIGHT, AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE IN SUPPORT NETWORKS. THESE PROGRAMS DRAW ON THE LIVED EXPERIENCE OF FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVELY TRAINED TO HELP OTHERS. NAMI CENTRAL TEXAS'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE. NAMI CENTRAL TEXAS ALSO OFFERS MONTHLY PROGRAM MEETINGS WITH INVITED GUEST SPEAKERS WHICH FOCUS ON TOPICAL INFORMATION. ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE TRAINED AND CERTIFIED IN NAMI PROGRAMS AND PRESENTATIONS CONTRIBUTE ACTIVELY TO NAMI'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS, INCLUDING A SPEAKER'S BUREAU. THOSE INDIVIDUALS WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS WHO ARE TRAINED PRESENTERS RECEIVE A STIPEND FROM NAMI AUSTIN FOR EACH PRESENTATION MADE.
