IN 2021, EMI USA CONTINUED TO PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR COMMUNITIES AND CHRISTIAN MINISTRY CLIENTS IN COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF PROJECTS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL WAS REDUCED WHEN COMPARED AGAINST TYPICAL YEARS FOR THE MINISTRY, DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS AND THE RISK CLIMATE IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS SUCH AS HAITI. DESPITE THESE CHALLENGES, EMI USA LED TEAMS OF VOLUNTEERS TO GABON AND MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN KENYA FOR CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE. THESE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES OPERATE MISSION HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, AND CENTERS FOR THOSE RECOVERING FROM SEX TRAFFICKING. IN ADDITION, EMI USA PROVIDED REMOTE ASSISTANCE (NO INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL) TO PROJECTS IN ZAMBIA, MALAWI, AND NIGER. IN OTHER AREAS, EMI USA PERFORMS DISASTER RESPONSE TO ETHIOPIA. EMI USA WAS HEAVILY ENGAGED THROUGHOUT 2021 IN A LARGE MULTI-YEAR WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) PROGRAM IN REMOTE VILLAGES OF ALASKA IN EARLY 2021, WHICH INCLUDED HIRING STAFF IN ALASKA AND DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIPS NECESSARY TO RECOGNIZE THE PROGRAM'S GOALS OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS.EMI USA ALSO PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO TENWEK HOSPITAL IN DEVELOPING BUSINESS PLANS AND PROVIDE INPUT, WHEN POSSIBLE, RELATED TO THE OVERALL MASTER PLAN FACILITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE COMPONENTS AS WELL AS AN ONGOING DISASTER RISK REDUCTION PROJECT TO IMPROVE SHELTER FACILITIES IN HAITI.
