EMERGENCY SERVICES PROVIDED FOOD, SHELTER, UTILITY ASSISTANCE, HOUSING ASSISTANCE, MEDICATION ASSISTANCE, CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD/OTHER IN-KIND ASSISTANCE, SPECIAL PROGRAMS ASSISTANCE, AND/OR REFERRAL ASSISTANCE. OVER 1,890 FAMILIES, REPRESENTING MORE THAN 4,150 INDIVIDUALS, RECEIVED EMERGENCY SERVICES. THE SOME OTHER PLACE HOME DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM CURRENTLY HAS 230 HOMEBOUND INDIVIDUALS ON THE PROGRAM BASED ON THEIR NEEDS. THE BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAM SERVED 1,750 CHILDREN WITH NEW SCHOOL CLOTHING, SUPPLIES & BACKPACKS. ADDITIONAL CHILDREN WERE SERVED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOLLOWING THE ACTUAL BTS DISTRIBUTION. THE THANKSGIVING STORE WAS CANCELED. THE THANKSGIVING DAY MEAL PROVIDED OVER 220 MEALS SERVED ON SITE AND 200 MEALS HOME DELIVERED BY OVER 100 VOLUNTEERS AND 450 MEALS WERE PREPARED TO BE DELIVERED THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. THE NUTRITION CENTER SERVED 65,137 MEALS DURING THE YEAR, BOTH ON-SITE AND HOME-DELIVERED. HENRY'S PLACE, WHICH PROVIDES A BRIEF RESPITE FROM THE STREETS FOR THE HOMELESS, RECEIVED AN UNDETERMINED NUMBER OF VISITS MADE BY HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS. THE GIVING TREE CHRISTMAS PROGRAM SERVED 485 CHILDREN, 230 HOME DELIVERED MEALS, AND OVER 810 NURSING HOME RESIDENTS. THE CHRISTMAS DAY MEAL SERVED 98 MEALS ON SITE AND 120 MEALS WERE HOME DELIVERED BY TEMPLE EMANUEL AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS. SOP RECEIVED (AS BEST WE COULD KEEP COUNT) OVER 5,100 PHONE CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE IN 2021. ALL OF THESE SERVICES ARE MADE POSSIBLE WITH SUPPORT FROM THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THE PANDEMIC GREATLY RESTRICTED THE ABILITY OF SOME OTHER PLACE TO SERVE AS IN THE PAST. NEVER COMPLETELY CLOSED, SOP MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO CONTINUE SERVING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AS BEST IT COULD. SOP ALSO SAW A REDUCTION IN REQUESTS FOR SERVICES DUE TO THE ABUNDANCE OF CARES MONEY AVAILABLE TO COVID 19 AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS.
