TO MEET THE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE BRAZOS VALLEY NEEDING BASIC ASSISTANCE BY OPERATING 4 PROGRAMS: HOMELESS & HOUSING SERVICES, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES, YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES, AND DONATION AND RESALE SERVICES.

HOMELESS AND HOUSING SERVICES - THE DOUG WEEDON SHELTER FOR HOPE (FORMERLY THE BRIDGE) IS A SHELTER TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY HOUSING FOR MEN, WOMEN AND FAMILIES. THE COMMUNITY CLOSET AND THE COMMUNITY CAF (COLLECTIVELY COMMUNITY SERVICES) PROVIDE CLOTHES/HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND MEALS, RESPECTIVELY TO THOSE IN NEED IN THE COMMUNITY AT NO COST. THE RAPID RE-HOUSING PROGRAM (SUPPORTIVE HOUSING) UTILIZES THE U.S. HUD "HOUSING FIRST MODELX AND THE "OPENING DOORS" INITIATIVE TO THOSE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. AN APARTMENT COMPLEX IN BRYAN AND A FOUR-PLEX IN COLLEGE STATION (COLLECTIVELY THE HAVEN) ARE MANAGED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL HOUSING SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.


YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES - AS PART OF THE TEXAS DFPSS INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE SAFE AND STABLE FAMILIES, THE FAYS(FAMILY AND YOUTH SUCCESS) PROGRAM PROVIDES COUNSELING AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING TO AT-RISK YOUTH AGES 0 TO 17 AND THEIR FAMILIES.


DONATION & RESALE SERVICES (COLLECTIVELY RECYCLE/RESALE)- SEVERAL THRIFT STORES OFFER LOW-COST CLOTHING, HOUSEWARES, FURNITURE, BOOKS AND KITCHEN ITEMS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. A RECYCLE YARD ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CORRUGATED CARDBOARD. BOTH THE RECYCLE YARD AND THRIFT STORES PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE SEEKING TO TRANSITION FROM HOMELESSNESS TO PERMANENT HOUSING.
