THE SOCIETY FOR MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE SUPPORTS THE CLINICAL PRACTICE OF MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE BY PROVIDING EDUCATION, PROMOTING RESEARCH, AND ENGAGING IN ADVOCACY TO OPTIMIZE THE HEALTH OF HIGH-RISK PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEIR BABIES.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

THE SOCIETY IS ALSO AN ADVOCATE FOR IMPROVING PUBLIC POLICY AND EXPANDING RESEARCH FUNDING AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE AREA OF MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE. THE SOCIETY MONITORS GOVERNMENTAL MATTERS THAT COULD AFFECT THE STUDY OF MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE.


THE SOCIETY HOSTS AN ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING IN WHICH NEW IDEAS AND RESEARCH IN THE AREA OF MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE ARE PRESENTED AND THERE ARE ADDITIONAL FREQUENT CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION COURSES PROVIDED BY OUR MEMBERS.


THE SOCIETY SPONSORS CODING COURSES TO INSTRUCT ITS MEMBERS ON HOW TO CODE FOR MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE AND TO TIE PROPER PROCEDURES AND DIAGNOSIS CODES TO CONTRACTS. THE SOCIETY PROVIDES WORKSHOPS ON ISSUES RELATED TO MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE ITS MEMBERS.
