THE HOUSTON SAENGERBUND CONTINUES TO FOLLOW ITS MISSION OF CULTIVATING THE FUTHERANCE OF GERMAN SONG AND MUSIC, TO PRESERVE THE GERMAN LANGUAGE, TO PROMOTE THE SOCIETY'S LIFE, AND TO CONVEY GOOD GERMAN CUSTOMS AND MORALS. NORMALLY, REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE EVERY WEEK AND PERFORMANCES AT AN AVERAGE OF EVERY THREE WEEKS. IN A NORMAL YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 2,500 PERSONS WOULD ATTEND THE PERFORMANCES. DURING 2021, AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE NUMBER OF REHERSALS AND PERFORMANCES WERE DRASTICALLY REDUCED, BUT THE ORGANIZATION IS PLANNING TO RETURN TO PRE-COVID ACTIVITY LEVELS FOLLOWING THE SAFE CONCLUSION OF THE PANDEMIC. THE HOUSTON SAENGERBUND ALSO SUPPORTS THE SAENGERBUND KICKERS, A COMMUNITY SOCCER CLUB AS WELL AS NUMEROUS ORGANIZATIONS IN HOUSTON WHO CONTRIBUTE TO PRESERVING THE GERMAN CULTURE.
