TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL RESOURCES, CULTIVATE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS, AND CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENTS TO ENGAGE STUDENTS, EMPOWER TEACHERS, AND ENRICH LEARNING WITHIN BARTLESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

SCHOOL SAFETY - SCHOOL SAFETY IS ONE OF OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT'S TOP PRIORITIES. OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, OUR SCHOOLS HAVE INVESTED IN ADDITIONAL SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. THE BARTLESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS NOW HAVE A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER ASSIGNED TO EACH OF ITS SCHOOL SITES. THEY ARE FULLY TRAINED POLICE OFFICERS. THE BPS FOUNDATION HAS PARTNERED WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS INCLUDING TRAINING (ATTENDING NATIONAL AND STATE LEVEL SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER CONFERENCES) AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT PRIORITIZED BY THE BARTLESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS DIRECTOR OF HEALTH AND SAFETY. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN INCREDIBLY WELL RECEIVED BY OUR SCHOOL STAFF AND ADMINISTRATORS AND BY OUR COMMUNITY. THE BPS FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO PASS 100% OF FUNDS RAISED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM ON TO SUPPORT SCHOOL SAFETY AND THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OUR SCHOOL PRIORITIZE.


BRUINS ON THE RUN AND SPECIAL PROJECTS


BIZ TOWN - JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT'S BIZTOWN IS A HANDS-ON INITIATIVE THAT GIVES 5TH GRADERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN HOW A CITY OPERATES AND EXPLORE VARIOUS CAREERS. STUDENTS WILL PERFORM THE DUTIES OF CITY OFFICIALS, BUSINESS PEOPLE, BANK TELLERS, NEWS REPORTERS, AND OTHER OCCUPATIONS IMPORTANT TO THE ECONOMY AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN A COMMUNITY. THE DAY AT BIZTOWN IS THE CULMINATION OF A FIVE-WEEK STUDY OF BASIC ECONOMICS, GIVING THE STUDENTS THE CHANCE TO SEE THEIR CLASSROOM LESSONS COME TO LIFE IN THE SIMULATED REAL WORLD ENVIRONMENT.


IMAGINATION LIBRARY - THE DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY IS A BOOK- GIFTING PROGRAM FROM YOUNG CHILDREN (0-5 YEARS OLD) THAT HAS BEEN IN OPERATION SINCE 1995 AND IS ACTIVE ACROSS THE WORLD. EACH MONTH, BOOKS ARE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE ENROLLED CHILD'S HOME AT NO COST TO THE PARENT UNTIL THEIR 5TH BIRTHDAY. THE BOOKS ARE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE CHILD IN ORDER TO CREATE A SENSE OF EXCITEMENT AND BOND WITH THE BOOKS. THE FOUNDATION COVERS THE COST ASSOCIATED WITH BRINGING THIS PROGRAM TO BARTLESVILLE CHILDREN.
