HEALTH EQUITY & WELLNESS PROGRAMS: YWCA TULSA'S HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS SERVED 3,302 PEOPLE IN 2021. WOMEN, MEN, CHILDREN, AND SENIORS PARTICIPATED IN FITNESS ACTIVITIES AT TWO FITNESS CENTERS INCLUDING: GROUP FITNESS CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS, STRENGTH TRAINING, WATER AEROBICS, AND SWIMMING LESSONS. TO ADDRESS HEALTH DISPARITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY WE PROVIDED 310 DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. WE PROVIDED FRESH PRODUCE AND GROCERIES TO 500 INDIVUALS, AND RESTARTED OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN TO CREATE ACCESS TO HEALTHY MEALS AND FOOD. WE PROVIDED 117 INDIVIDUALS WITH RED CROSS CERTIFIED LIFE GUARD TRAINING, WATER SAFTEY AND CPR TRAINING.
IMMIGRANT & REFUGEE SERVICES: YWCA TULSA SERVED 3,074 NEWCOMERS TO TULSA IN 2021. OUR ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES SERVED 198 ADULT ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS AND 95 YOUTH, CASE MANAGEMENT PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT SERVICES AND SUPPORT TO 125 IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES, AND TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION SERVICES RESPONDED TO 470 REQUESTS. YWCA TULSA LEGAL SERVICES TEAM OPENED 263 CASES WITH 66% RECEIVING THEIR REQUESTED BENEFIT. YWCA TULSA ALSO PROVIDED REFERRAL SERVICES BY PHONE TO OVER 500 CALLERS SEEKING INFORMATION ON LEGAL SERVICES, SOCIAL SERVICES, AND IMMIGRATION. YWCA TULSA PROVIDED DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 182 FAMILIES (862 INDIVIDUALS) EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AS A RESULT FO THE PANDEMIC AND THEIR IMMIGRATION STATUS.
