EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ACCOMPLISHMENTS:1. THE COLONIAL DAMES OF LA (NSCDA OF LA)ANNUALLY PRESENTS AMERICAN HISTORY AWARDS OF $1000 TO DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN LOUISIANA RESEARCHING ANY PERIOD OF AMERICAN HISTORY. 2. THIS YEAR NSCDA SENT 3 WINNERS OF AN ESSAY CONTEST, ALL EXPENSES PAID, TO A WEEKS LONG CONGRESSIONAL SEMINAR IN WASHINGTON DC.SUPPORT PROJECTS THAT FURTHER PATRIOTIC CAUSES IN THE STATE: 1. THE HISTORIC FLAGS PROGRAM IS OFFERED TO SCHOOLS, VETERANS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND TELLS THE HISTORY OF THE FLAGS THAT HAVE FLOWN OVER OUR COUNTRY.2. EVERY YEAR THE DAMES SUPPORTS THE MILITARY BY VISITING, SENDING CARDS AND BUYING NEEDED ITEMES FOR VETERANS.3. THE AMERICAN INDIAN MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS FOR STUDENTS OF AMERICAN INDIAN BACKROUND WHO WISH TO PURSUE A CAREER IN A MEDICAL FIELD AND HOPEFULLY RETURN TO THEIR PEOPLE TO PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICES.
