MASNO'S VISION IS TO BE A PRIMARY SOURCE IN ESTABLISHING NEW ORLEANS AS A VITAL AND VIBRANT CENTER FOR THE MUSICAL ARTS RECOGNIZED REGIONALLY, NATIONALLY, AND INTERNATIONALLY. MASNO'S MISSION IS 1) TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES TO HEAR, PARTICIPATE IN, AND APPRECIATE PERFORMANCES OF THE MUSICAL ARTS BY ESTABLISHED AND EMERGING ARTISTS; 2) TO ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUPPORTIVE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCES FOR CONCERTS PRESENTED BY THE MUSICAL ARTS SOCIETY AND OTHER MUSICAL ORGANIZATIONS; 3) TO NURTURE THE DEVELOPMENT OF TALENT; 4) TO CHAMPION MUSIC EDUCATION.

NEW ORLEANS INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION- THE NOIPC BEGAN IN 1989 AND HAS EXPANDED IN SCOPE THROUGH THE YEARS TO BECOME INTERNATIONALLY REGARDED AS ONE OF THE TOP PROGRAMS OF ITS KIND. INTERNATIONAL AUDITIONS ARE HELD TO SELECT 12 PIANISTS AS SEMIFINALISTS WHO TRAVEL TO NEW ORLEANS FOR A WEEK OF PUBLIC CONCERTS COMPETING FOR CASH AND PERFORMANCE PRIZES. FOLLOWING THE COMPETITION, THE TOP THREE WINNERS RETURN TO NEW ORLEANS FOR MULTIPLE PERFORMANCES AS WELL AS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AS MASNO ARTISTS. THE NOIPC IS CURRENTLY A BIENNIAL EVENT, AND SERVES AS A CAREER LAUNCHING PLATFORM FOR THESE EMERGING ARTISTS.
NEW ORLEANS PIANO INSTITUTE AND KEYBOARD FESTIVAL: FROM A GROUP OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL APPLICATIONS AND AUDITIONS, 34 YOUNG PIANISTS ARE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE AS PERFORMERS IN THE NEW ORLEANS PIANO INSTITUTE - A PIANO ACADEMY TAKING PLACE DURING THE NEW ORLEANS KEYBOARD FESTIVAL. THESE TALENTED COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL AND JUNIOR HIGH PIANISTS FROM ACROSS THE US AND AROUND THE WORLD PARTICIPATE IN AN INTENSIVE SOLO PERFORMANCE PROGRAM, INCLUDING PRIVATE LESSONS WITH DISTINGUISHED FACULTY, MASTER CLASSES, SPECIAL LECTURES IN PIANO LITERATURE AND PERFORMANCE PRACTICE, AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM IN THE SHOWCASE RECITAL. STUDENTS ARE ALSO INVITED TO COMPETE IN THE NOPI SOLO COMPETITION AND THE NOPI CONCERTO COMPETITION PRESENTED BY HALL PIANO COMPANY AND THE STEINWAY SOCIETY OF NEW ORLEANS. THE WINNER OF THE CONCERTO COMPETITION IS INVITED BACK TO NEW ORLEANS TO PEFORM WITH THE NEW ORLEANS CIVIC SYMPHONY. IN ADDITION TO THE PERFORMANCE AND LESSON OPPORTUNITIES, STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE GUEST ARTIST RECITALS OF THE NEW ORLEANS KEYBOARD FESTIVAL GUEST ARTISTS. THE NEW ORLEANS PIANO INSTITUTE IS MASNO'S MAIN EDUCATIONAL COMPONENT.
BACHTOBERFEST: BACHTOBERFEST IS AN OUTDOOR ANNUAL EVENT HELD IN OCTOBER THAT CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF J.S. BACH AND OTHER GERMAN COMPOSERS.
