THE CENTRAL AREA YOUTH LEAGUE, INC. PROVIDES BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PROGRAMS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE BOYS AND GIRLS IN AND AROUND THE CITY OF CENTRAL COMMUNITY IN EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH. IT IS INTENDED TO MAKE BETTER CITIZENS THROUGH PROPER SUPERVISION AND REGULATION OF COMPETITIVE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL IN ADDITION TO PROMOTING MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. PARTICIPANTS LEARN THE PROPER FUNDAMENTALS AND BASIC STRATEGIES FOR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL AND TO PROMOTE SPORTSMANSHIP, FELLOWSHIP AND SAFETY, REGARDLESS OF SKILL LEVEL, THEREBY PROVIDING WHOLESOME ACTIVITIES FOR THE YOUTH OF THE CENTRAL AREA. T-BALL, BASEBALL AND SOFBALL ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED FOR BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 5-15. VOLUNTEER COACHES CONDUCT THESE ACTIVITIES AND GAMES ARE PLAYED IN PARKS OWNED BY THE EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LOUISIANA. THE ACTIVITIES ARE FUNDED BY REGISTRATION FEES, TEAM SPONSOR FEES AND TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEES. DURING THE 2021 SEASON 47 TEAMS WITH OVER 600 PLAYERS PARTICIPATED IN LEAGUE PLAY.
