PITOT HOUSE MUSEUM - 18TH CENTURY WEST INDIES STYLE HOUSE ON BAYOU ST. JOHN IN NEW ORLEANS. HOME OF THE FIRST ELECTED MAYOR OF INCORPORATED NEW ORLEANS AFTER THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE. FURNISHED WITH PERIOD ANTIQUES. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - APPROXIMATELY 1,100 VISITORS PER YEAR.


NEW ORLEANS NINE PROGRAM- SAVING HISTORIC PLACES, PUBLICITY FOR HISTORIC SITES, ADVOCACY FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION, PRESERVATION EDUCATION, AND SUPPORTING PROACTIVE PRESERVATION EFFORTS. THE PROGRAM IDENTIFIED A LIST OF THE NINE MOST ENDANGERED HISTORIC RESOURCES BEGINNING IN 2005. THE LIST IS RENEWED ANNUALLY AND CITIZENS CAN NOMINATE NEW SITES EACH YEAR.


EDUCATIONAL LECTURES, MEETINGS, EXHIBITS AND PROGRAMS INCLUDING PROGRAMS WITH VARIOUS SCHOOLS AND INTERNSHIPS WITH TULANE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - FREE ADMISSION.
