LUNION FRANAISE WAS FORMED IN 1872 WITH THE PURPOSE OF ENGAGING IN EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES, AND TO TEACH, PROMOTE, AND PRESERVE THE FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.

OPERATION OF A SCHOOL WHERE THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IS TAUGHT AS WELL AS FRENCH CULTURE CLASSES AND SPECIAL EVENTS THAT COMPLEMENT FRENCH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION.
PROMOTION OF THE EDUCATION OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN THE COMMUNITY BY OFFERING GRANTS TO QUALIFIED ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS (KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8TH GRADE) IN LOUISIANA. THESE GRANTS ARE OFFERED TO ENABLE THE SCHOOLS TO ENRICH THEIR FRENCH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION AND STIMULATE STUDENT INTEREST IN FRENCH CULTURE.
