TO IMPROVE CHILDREN'S HEALTH, DEVELOPMENT AND WELL-BEING THROUGH HIGH QUALITY RESEARCH.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
DURING FY22, ARKANSAS CHILDREN'S RESEARCH INSTITUTE (ACRI) RECEIVED $16 MILLION FROM THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH) TO SUPPORT RESEARCH TO ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE THAT WILL GUIDE THE WAY INJURY AND ILLNESS ARE PREVENTED AND TREATED IN CHILDREN. NEW NIH-SUPPORTED AWARDS INCLUDED A $25 MILLION, 5-YEAR PROJECT IN WHICH ACRI RESEARCHERS BEGAN COORDINATING SITES ACROSS 14 STATES IN A STUDY TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE LONG-TERM IMPACTS OF COVID-19 ON CHILDREN ACROSS THE NATION. THAT RESEARCH COULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS FOR CHILDREN WITH COVID-19. ACRI PROVIDED THE RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE TO OVER 120 RESEARCHERS WHO PUBLISHED THEIR SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS IN OVER 301 PEER-REVIEWED SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL ARTICLES, OF WHICH 31.3% OF THE PUBLICATIONS APPEARED IN THE TOP 10% RANKING JOURNALS.
