THE ARKANSAS STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (ASEA'S) FISCAL YEAR END 6/30/2023 HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED: ADVOCATING FOR THE SUCCESSFUL PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION TO EXTEND THE MATERNITY LEAVE AND LEAVE FOR THE ADOPTION AND FOSTERING OF CHILDREN FOR STATE EMPLOYEES. DURING THE THIS YEAR WE ALSO AWARDED A RECORD FORTY-ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN SCHOLARSHIPS. THIS BRINGS ASEA'S TOTAL AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED IN THE LAST DECADE TO ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. ASEA CONTINUES TO ADVOCATE TO PROTECT RETIREES HEALTH INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT PENSION AS WELL AS ADVOCATING FOR A NEW COMPENSATION AND PERFORMANCE SYSTEM FOR ACTIVE STATE EMPLOYEES.
