OUTREACH: INSTALLED NEW TRAIL SIGNS, BIKE RACKS AND FIX-IT STATIONS AT POINTS AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD. PROMOTED PUBLIC TRANSIT AND MOBILITY OPTIONS. REMOVED 20-PLUS JUMBO BAGS OF TRASH, SHOPPING CARTS, AND OTHER LARGE DEBRIS ALONG JACKRABBIT TRAIL. PARTICIPATED SENSIBLY IN DISCUSSIONS WITH DEVELOPERS AND STAKEHOLDERS.
JIBE BY BIKE: BIKE DOC, OUR FREE REPAIR SERVICE, PUT NEARLY 900 BIKES BACK ON THE ROAD. CELEBRATED BIKE MONTH WITH GUSTO, INCLUDING BIKE & SEEK, BREAK FAST WEDNESDAYS, AND MAILED THE BIKE RESOURCES GUIDE TO ALL NORTH NATOMAS RESIDENTS. HELD BETTER ON BIKES TWICE, A TRAINING PROGRAM FOR CYCLISTS 50 AND OVER WITH 50 RIDERS. HELD 2 NEIGHBORHOOD EXPLORATION RIDES, HELD HELMET SALE AND FREEDOM FROM TRAINING WHEELS EVENT, RECRUITED AND TRAINED NEW CYCLING INSTRUCTORS AND ADVOCATES.
JIBE TO SCHOOL: SPONSORED BIKE TRAINING TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AS PART OF A VOCATIONAL CAREER PATHWAY. MORE THAN 60 STUDENTS COMPLETED THE PROGRAM. RESTARTED PROJECT RIDE SMART CLASS AT TWO SCHOOLS COMPLETED BY MORE THAN 100 STUDENTS. PROMOTED WALKING, BIKING, AND ROLLING TO SCHOOL WITH GAMES AND CONTESTS INCLUDING FIVE SENSES BINGO, GO FOR GOLD STEP CHALLENGE, WALKTOBER, AND STUDENT ART CHALLENGE.
